These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of pleaseopen.me (the "Service"), operated by Eighteen1 Studios, owned by Raphael Pappalardo, based in Germany ("we," "us," "our").

By using the Service — whether as a visitor clicking a redirect link, or as a creator with an account — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We are not lawyers speaking on your behalf when you read this — if you need these Terms reviewed for a specific situation, we recommend consulting a qualified lawyer.

1. What the Service does

pleaseopen.me lets creators generate a custom redirect link (e.g. pleaseopen.me/yourslug) that:

  • Detects when it is opened inside certain in-app browsers (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Shows an explanatory/tutorial screen when needed
  • Redirects visitors to a destination URL specified by the creator (typically an App Store or Google Play link)

We offer a free tier and a paid premium tier with additional customization options, as described on the Service.

No guarantee of effectiveness. In-app browser behavior is controlled by third-party platforms (TikTok, Meta, etc.) and can change at any time without notice. We do our best to keep detection and redirect logic current, but we cannot guarantee the Service will always work as intended on every platform, device, or app version, and we are not responsible for changes made by third-party platforms that affect the Service's functionality.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account (via email, Google, or Apple sign-in).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under it.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, you may not use the Service.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms (see Section 4).

3. Your content and links

When you use the Service to create a redirect link, you are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of the destination URL(s) you provide (e.g. App Store / Google Play links)
  • Any custom text, branding, or images you upload for your link's tutorial page
  • Ensuring your use of the Service complies with the terms of service of the platforms you promote on (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) and with applicable law

You retain ownership of any custom content you submit (text, logos, branding). By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to host and display it as part of operating the Service for you.

4. Prohibited use

You may not use pleaseopen.me to:

  • Redirect visitors to malware, phishing pages, illegal content, or anything designed to deceive or harm visitors
  • Redirect to destinations other than what a reasonable visitor would expect from the context in which your link is shared (e.g. bait-and-switch links)
  • Infringe on the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
  • Circumvent, disrupt, or abuse the Service's infrastructure (e.g. excessive automated requests, attempts to bypass rate limits or payment restrictions)
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

We reserve the right to disable any redirect link or suspend/terminate any account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, with or without notice, at our discretion.

5. Payments (Premium tier)

  • Premium features are available via a one-time payment or other pricing option displayed on the Service at the time of purchase, processed through Stripe.
  • We do not store your full payment card details; this is handled directly by Stripe.
  • Refunds: We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase. If you are a consumer in the EU, this reflects your statutory right of withdrawal for digital purchases. To request a refund, contact us at contact@pleaseopen.me with your purchase details.
  • Prices may change in the future; changes will not retroactively affect a purchase you have already made.

6. Service availability

  • We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service (including free features) at any time. If we discontinue paid premium features you've already purchased, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rated refund or equivalent remedy.
  • We may need to change domains (e.g. if pleaseopen.me becomes restricted by a third-party platform) and will make reasonable efforts to notify creators and minimize disruption if this happens.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • In-app browser detection or redirect behavior will work correctly on every device, OS, or app version
  • Any destination platform (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, App Store, Google Play, etc.) will continue to permit the kind of redirect behavior the Service relies on

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eighteen1 Studios and Raphael Pappalardo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under German law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body, or health.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eighteen1 Studios and Raphael Pappalardo from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. Sections 7, 8, 9) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify account holders (e.g. via email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent permitted by law, the courts of Germany shall have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence if you are a consumer in the EU.
